Did You Expect Any Less?

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you enjoy this special day with family and loved ones.

Earlier this morning, Imaginary Diva finally got her Christmas present.  I got her the very cute and very popular “Elmo TMX”.  This toy is pretty amazing!

I also spent some time today with my best friend Mark, we’ve been pals since grade 3.  It’s always a treat to catch up with old mates from yesteryear (Hey Mark!  In case your reading this blog, I hope you enjoy the presents. Hehehehe!).

I better watch my weight.  We have a big Christmas dinner tonight with the entire family.  Plus, other special functions we’ll be attending.  The eating never seems to end!

Nevetheless, I hope you keep safe throughout the holidays.  And who knows?  You may see me in line during Boxing Day!

  • Smooth Like a Motorola PEBL

Nothing lasts forever!  We all know that mobile phones, PDA’s, and iPod’s can easily malfunction. This inevitable breakdown recently happened with my old mobile phone.  It got to a point where every call became a shouting match due to all the static noise. After dealing with this fiasco for a week or two, I took it upon myself to finally search for a new mobile phone.

    But where do I start?

I called my old buddy, Peter Chan, to help me out.  Peter recently opened up a Fido Franchise called “Orange Wave Wireless”.  He carries the latest phones, and wireless solutions in the market.  Peter also sells imported phones from overseas, along with value added services such as unlocking, additional ring tones, photos, and software.

Modern day mobile phones are packed with features I could care less about, such as megapixel cameras, multimedia messaging, MP3 functionality and personal videos.  Most consumers never use these extra features anyway.

After assessing my needs, Peter recommended the Motorola PEBL.  I’ve never held a phone that felt so good in my hand; the smooth exterior and oval shape brings true meaning to its name.  Sure, the PEBL has a camera and video recorder, but it’s not bloated with too many features.  And like most Motorola phones, the PEBL is well built and very appealing to the eye.

I eventually selected a green Motorola PEBL as my new mobile phone.  The color and shape reminds me of little aliens and UFO’s.  Yes, I know this model doesn’t carry all the bell and whistles to make a geek proud, but it remains a perfect choice for people (like me) who simply use it for one purpose - to make calls.  If your in the market for a simple but stylish mobile phone, you should definately check out the Motorola PEBL.

  • A Slingbox for Every Couch Potato

Christmas is less than a week away. Have you finished your shopping? I really can’t stand crowded malls or department stores. This is why I usually finish my shopping list a couple weeks early. All this free time allows me to play with my latest gadget - The Slingbox. This device has been getting pretty popular during the past year. It’s the ultimate toy for mobile couch potato’s.

The Slingbox is a TV streaming device that allows you to remotely view, cable, satellite or personal video recorders from a computer connected to the internet. It really doesn’t take a genius to setup the Slingbox. The whole process took me less than 10 minutes to complete.

The Slingbox can also be used for desktop computers. However, when used with a laptop, it brings your TV viewing experience to the next level. Imagine being able to watch your local news or sports team while away on a business trip. Or being able to watch TV while sitting in the backyard. All you really need is an internet or network connection to access the signal from a Slingbox. It’s simple to use, since the software connects to the Slingbox for viewing.

If you have a loved one who can’t part with their TV viewing experience, perhaps you should check the Slingbox out. If there’s an internet connection to be found, they’ll never miss a show again!
