Did You Expect Any Less?
13 Apr
It’s been a pretty busy week for me. Imaginary Diva and I are looking to buy a new home soon. We’ve spent the past three weeks evaluating properties and residential communities in the city of Langley. A town home or condominium is a perfect choice for us; it provides the space and comfort we need.
The real estate market in British Columbia is very hot. For the past year, we’ve come to witness double digit growth across our Province. In fact, average pricing for a detached home has grown to $650,000. With the 2010 Winter Olympics only 3 years away, property prices are expected to rise even higher.
I feel it’s time to dip into the real estate game, since prices are still affordable in certain areas. Since there’s a couple more properties to view, we remain open minded with anything presented to us, so expect a decision soon.
And yes, we’ll eventually have a house warming party with our close friends. A salsa party perhaps?

Wow. that’s amazing .. you should consider Winnipeg
I know people who have purchased housing in Vancouver area for about $350k that would sell for $80k here. But, then again .. you’ve got more opportunities over there. I know one family that purchased a $700k home 3 years ago and business was so good the mortgage is paid off now.
Of course, should be exciting near Olympic time! I remember in the 80’s that Langley used to be another city altogether … isn’t it now just a suburb of Vancouver? // Take care. HART
Oh yes, Langley is essentially an outlying suburb of Vancouver. It’s amazing how much growth has occurred during the past 4 years!
