Cult TV show Battlestar Galactica will finally end next year, the program’s makers have confirmed.  Executive producers Ronald Moore and David Eick issued a statement, saying, “This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and, finally, an end.  Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end, and we’ve decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms. And while we know our fans will be saddened to know the end is coming, they should brace themselves for a wild ride getting there - we’re going out with a bang.”.

Battlestar Galactica is a criticially acclaimed sci-fi drama with great acting and storylines.  It’s a production filled with flawed characters that mimmick our human nature and our plight as a people.  A show that isn’t afraid to examine our flawed shortcomings, especially with the world around us.  It’s a critically aclaimed drama of the most intense nature, a well produced show with a delivery standard that will keep you coming back for more.

For longtime viewers such as me, this announcement comes to no suprise.  This type of show has to end.  Characters and storylines were developed with a creative agenda to finally reach a conclusion, plus extending the show beyond four seasons (or more) would simply delay or drag-on towards an inevitable ending.

Overall, I’m dissapointed BSG will finally end.  But the timing is perfect, especially for a show that differs so much from the norm.
