The Long Awaited Housewarming Party

I am so tired.  Yours truly spent the past 3 hours cleaning up the house.  Since my family has been pestering me for a housewarming party, I finally gave-in to their wishes.  Of course, they`ll be doing all the cooking, while I sit down in my comfy chair with a beer in one hand and another beer in the other. ;-)

Our beautiful kitchen is finally clean!

The party will happen sometime this week.  I`ll make sure there`s enough Cheeto`s for everyone.

New York & The Twilight Zone

Sex and Politics is a nasty combination as evidenced by the New York Governorship.  Like a Soap Opera getting weirder by the hour, newly sworn Governor, David A Paterson, openly acknowledged his own extramarital affairs during a 15 year marriage.  This stunning admission comes a little more than a week after his predecessor, former Gov. Eliot Spitzer, resigned amid allegations he spent thousands of dollars on a prostitute.

I already bought this T-Shirt

Paterson admitted to the Daily News of New York City that his fling with another women occurred between 1999 and 2001.  Apparently, Paterson’s wife also had an affair during this stormy part of their relationship.  A wacky situation indeed!

As a legislative member, Paterson claims those extramarital romps came out of his wallet and not at the tax payers expense.  If caught using State funds, his tenure as Governor will be less than a New York minute or worse.

Given the weirdness of the past week, I really hope Gov. Paterson is telling the truth because I don’t want to know what other skeletons may be hiding in his closet.

I’m a Recovering Addict

More gamer talk for today.  Thanks to CafePress, I will continue to wear my battle scars with pride.

The long awaited rematch is finally over.  Last night, Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao did it again with a controversial decision over heated rival Juan Miguel Marquez.  With victories over Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera, Oscar Larios & Jorge Solis, Marquez became the latest Mexican fighter to face defeat by the Filipino boxing sensation.

It was 12 rounds of back and forth action, further proving why boxing is still called a “sweet science”.  I watched in total amazement as both fighters fought with a high skill set that you can only achieve through years of training in the ring.  They danced around like a finely tuned orchestra with each fighter dishing out a different set of notes but still making beautiful music in the end.

A third-round knockdown of Marquez allowed Pac-man to win crucial points, and, ultimately, the judge’s decision.  However, Marquez continued to battle on with effective counterpunches and combinations.  I felt Marquez came into this fight a lot more prepared based on his punching accuracy.  Nonetheless, it was a very close fight that could have gone either way.

Since he cleared out the featherweight division, what does the future hold for Pac-Man?  An expected to move up to the lightweight division and a fight with American fighter David Diaz, the WBC lightweight champion, will most likely be his next big challenge.  Does a future fight with Oscar De La Hoya also ring a bell?  I hope it happens before Golden Boy finally decides to retire.
