Did You Expect Any Less?

It’s that time of the year again! For inquiring minds who want to know, I am now making plans for Black Friday 2008. This means another night of freezing my ass off in line. Nevertheless, the long wait is definitely worth it. During 2006 & 2007, I was able to survive rowdy crowds (and my sanity) in order to get the best deals possible.
What exactly is Black Friday? In simple terms, it’s one of the hottest shopping days of the year. Since American Thanksgiving is held every 3rd Thursday in November, the day after signals a beginning of the Christmas shopping season. Black Friday is similar to Boxing Day (in Canada) but the deals are available for only 24 hours and they’re a million times better.
To be honest, it’s not low priced geekware that brings me out in the cold winter night. What keeps me coming back is the “Thrill of the Hunt”. I don’t need any new electronic toys for my home or business, plus I’m in no rush to buy another Sony laptop with over bloated software. Sure, another fast video card would be nice, but overall, I am pretty contempt with my toys.

I’ve had numerous requests from friends to join me in line. Unfortunately, I have a dedicated shopping partner who’ll accompany me on Black Friday 2008. And you know what? She’s a lot more hardcore and rowdier than me. Ooh! I can’t wait!
